
The web and the internet are different things (see Internet). The internet came first, and is still there, providing all the infrastructure and protocols (rules) that enable the web to operate. And there is lots of other stuff going on, not least email, cloud-based services and a lot of the mobile technology we are rely on every day, whether you are Googling or not!
The web is the software, and more protocols, that allow data to be found, accessed and delivered from wherever in the world that it resides to your browser, smart device or desktop.
