
In an industry that likes titles and sometimes appears to over-complicate the apparently simple, Pea-ems provide a widely understood and valued functional role. They may not be experts in the things that are being produced, the technology, or the market, but they should be the owners of the plans (and the planning), and the day-to-day management of project risks, issues, dependencies, costs and benefits.
As well applying a set of tools, techniques and methods, Project Managers must also be masters of the softer skills of man-management, negotiation, conflict resolution and communication.
