First things first, there is no fluffy cloud where all the technology, software and data lives! That said, it is increasingly important for web-based services and business systems to make use of remote resources. By remote I mean potentially in a different country or continent, the internet travels at the speed of light so it doesn’t really care.
Hand-in-hand with the development of these networks and cloud-based computing is the shift away from organisations – and individuals – owning things to borrowing or hiring them and only paying for goods and services they need, when and where they are needed.
That’s just a little taster of what this IT element is all about. To find out more, why not Ask the IT Chemist.
