I know, you’re asking, ‘why the fanfare?’ As mentioned in earlier posts about Jargon and esoterica, it is vitally important that everyone understands each other. Communication is vital, and publishing a set of definitions is a good thing. It means that I am confident enough to share the meanings of words and acronyms for the common good, and that all readers can, if they choose, benefit from a public knowledge base (repository). Worthy of a fan-fare I think.
That said, I don’t intend you – or anyone – to read this from cover to cover, from Agile to Zygote (only joking!) It is intended as a resource to dip into, maybe as you hear these terms in the workplace, school or the media. And, ideally, as you read my blog.
Disclaimer: A Glossary is not a fixed immutable artefact like a dictionary or a signed-off agreement or contract, nor is it an exercise in ‘ticking a box’. In my experience, a glossary is a living breathing thing, it must be relevant, used and usable, and evolve as participants learn more about the subject matter. Meanings can evolve and change over time, and so should the glossary. As such, I am happy for any challenges, corrections or improvements from this community. Thank you in advance.
As always thank you for your feedback and comments.
